The Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) is recruiting foster caregivers throughout BC to provide care for school-aged children and youth.
BC Youth Week is coming up from May 1 to 7 and the City of Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» is hosting a full week of activities designed to help young people get active, learn something new, and connect with others in the community. There will be a kickoff party on May 1 from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at the Sportsplex and through the week there will be a youth spin class, 3 on 3 basketball tournament, an opportunity to learn basic first aid, and creative events like pottery classes and cupcake design. The Immigrant Welcome Centre is offering free youth badminton at the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» Community Centre on January 23 and 30 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. Open to all youth ages grade 7 and up.
NIC’s annual education and career festival is back this March and secondary students and teachers are invited! The festivities will take place in-person on the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» campus on Thursday, March 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. NIC invites you and your interested grade 10, 11 and 12 students to join them for tours, interactive sessions, program information, and free giveaways. Please RSVP by Friday, February 20 to futurestudents@nic.bc.ca confirming your attendance, estimated group size and arrival time. If transportation costs are a barrier, we have funding available so please reach out to the Future Students team so we can work together.
Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» Rugby is working hard to rebuild full youth teams locally and bring the spirit of the game to more young athletes. They welcome players of all skill levels, ages U7 to U19, and offer a fun, inclusive environment. Check out the attached flyer for details on registering for the 2025-26 season.
